Home educators are eligible to receive education pricing tickets. If you would like to take part in a lesson, home educator visits are available on select dates which can be found on our website but are subject to availability upon booking.
Alternatively, you can make a booking for your home educated children on any date that education pricing tickets are available, without a lesson.
Home educators may only book education pricing tickets for their own household and may not make group bookings for other home educating families. Your household may contain up to two adults and six children. If your household is larger than this, please call our Visitor Services Team on 0800 640 4550 to discuss your booking.
Proof of home education status, must be provided per child that is home educated full-time, based in the UK, when collecting tickets. We accept the following:
- A copy of your de-schooling letter
- A letter on headed paper by your child’s previous school confirming they have been deregistered
- A headed appointment letter from your local authority’s Home Education Officer or Home Education Assessor
- Any headed letter or email correspondence with your local authority where your child’s home education status has been acknowledged
If you do not have this, you will need to email [email protected] before booking your visit. Failure to provide this on the date of your visit will result in the ticket being changed to standard ticket prices.
Home education pricing is not available for any students outside of the UK.
Late arrivals will not be admitted to the classroom.
Essential companion tickets can be provided to any paid adult or paid child ticket for those who require additional support. We require the following forms of entitlement to collect your essential companion ticket on the day of your visit:
- Letter/notice of entitlement for Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment
- Letter/notice of entitlement for Employment and Support Allowance
- Letter/notice of entitlement for Attendance Allowance
- Freedom pass featuring the ‘D’ logo or blue badge
- DID card or Access Card
- Diagnosis or Doctor’s letter
- EHCP for a child who has previously been in school
Any additional adult tickets are charged at standard pricing. Payment is required at the time of booking. Home education tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable once payment has been made.
Home education bookings are not eligible for pre-visit tickets.
