Then vs Now: What’s New at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter?

From the authentic stone flooring of the Great Hall to the enchanting Diagon Alley cobblestones, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter allows fans to step onto the authentic sets from the magical world they know and love.

For those who haven’t visited since 2015, here are the wonders of the wizarding world you have yet to explore. We’re looking back at the last 10+ years of Studio Tour expansions to share a run-down of the new sets you may have missed since your last visit…

2015: Transport Yourself to Platform 9 ¾

You won’t need to run through any walls to discover the Hogwarts Express. In 2015, the locomotive arrived at Platform 9 ¾.

Hop aboard to find each carriage dedicated to an iconic scene from each film. You’ll also be able to take your photo with a luggage trolley through the wall!

2017: Brave the Forbidden Forest

Found on the edges of Hogwarts, the Forbidden Forest is feared by witches and wizards alike. In the Muggle world, however, fans have been able to visit the iconic set since it was brought to the Studio Tour in 2017.

Scenic artists created backdrops that were up to 600 feet in length and the forest was filled with 19 trees, each with a diameter of over 12 feet. The set also hosts several magical creatures including Centaurs, Hippogriffs and Acromantula.

2019: Unlock Secrets in Gringotts Wizarding Bank

In 2019, Gringotts Wizarding Bank was introduced, complete with marble pillars, three crystal chandeliers and real brass leaf details.

The set is home to inkwells, quills, ledgers and piles of Galleons, Sickles and Knuts, all of which are kept under the watchful eyes of the Gringotts Goblins.

2022: Experience Professor Sprout’s Greenhouse

Built by the original filmmakers, Professor Sprout’s Greenhouse was opened in the Studio Tour Backlot in 2022.

The set stands at 50-feet long and features an interactive display of magical plants and props, including Mandrakes. Don’t forget your earmuffs!

2024: Divination and Defence Against the Dark Arts Classrooms

We may be looking back at the Studio Tour’s past, but the Divination classroom is a set all about looking into the future. The set was introduced in 2024 for the Return to Azkaban feature. Here, you’ll find Professor Trelawney’s costume and a tower of 511 teacups. Keep an eye out for the Grim!

That same year, the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom was constructed. Practise your wand combat skills and prepare to duel a Death Eater during your Studio Tour visit.

2025: Discover Spellbinding Shows in the Backlot Stage

The Backlot Stage, found midway through the Studio Tour, is an indoor space with a digital screen, stage and tiered seating, offering a closer look at the magical world of filmmaking.

This summer, we’re uncovering the Secrets of Sound Effects with a new audiovisual experience. Learn about the art of Foley and discover how sound effects help bring the magic to life on-screen.
