Hogwarts in the Snow

Experience Christmas in the Wizarding World

16th November – 19th January 2025

You are invited to experience a very ‘Harry Christmas’ at the Studio Tour during Hogwarts in the Snow, the most magical time of year, when iconic Harry Potter sets are dressed for the festive season in a blanket of filmmaking snow.

Let The Magic Begin

Enter the Great Hall, bedecked in the gold decorations from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, you’ll find a mouth-watering banquet of roast potatoes, peas, turkeys, and puddings aflame set up as it was to celebrate the end-of-term feast at Hogwarts.

Christmas trees will tower over you in the Great Hall topped by authentic flying witches and inviting fireplaces will be adorned with festive holly, mistletoe, and wreaths.

Fan-favourite sets transformed

From the Gryffindor Boys’ Dormitory to the Gryffindor and Slytherin common rooms, discover how these sets were dressed for Christmas scenes in the film series. You’ll have the chance to spot authentic decorations and Christmas cards made by the crew during filming!

Prepare to impress with your dance moves as you learn the dance steps meticulously studied by Neville Longbottom ahead of the Yule Ball in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, or how the invisibility cloak Harry Potter receives as a Christmas present was used to create the illusion of invisibility on-screen

Step into the Forbidden Forest, where the woodlands will be covered in snow, or stroll down Diagon Alley with its snowy shop fronts and cobbled stones. Stop by the Christmas shop which has returned this year to provide you with a premium and exclusive selection of Christmas gifts, souvenirs, and stocking fillers.

Filmmaking secrets revealed

Learn how a never melting snow was created by the set decorators for the film series using three various materials each serving a different purpose onscreen.

Your visit will end with a walk around the Hogwarts Castle model, which is blanketed with snow, this meticulous transformation takes place at the Studio Tour each year, the same process as the one used in the films. Don’t forget to find the minuscule snowman figures hidden somewhere new on the model.
