Celebrate 25 years of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

You won’t need a Time-Turner to re-visit where the magic of Harry Potter began next summer. From original props, like the Golden Snitch, to authentic sets, such as the Hogwarts Express, embark on a magical journey through the Studio Tour and re-live iconic moments from the very first film.

The magic starts as soon as you enter the authentic Great Hall set. Discover Gryffindor house banners and a flurry of floating hats suspended from the ceiling above the long tables, celebrating the moment when Gryffindor wins the House Cup during the first-year End of Term Feast.

See New Spellbinding Shows

Stop by the Backlot Stage, midway through the Studio Tour, for a brand-new show, the Secrets of Sound Effects. Experience the art of Foley during this new audiovisual experience, exploring how sound effects help bring the magic to life on-screen.

At the demonstration stage, you’ll also be able to uncover how flying lessons and Quidditch matches were filmed. We’ll be showcasing the original Quidditch polearm rig whilst sharing some behind-the-scenes insights about the techniques used that set the standard for flying scenes throughout the film series.

Discover Magical Challenges

Experience how the challenges that Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger had to face were brought to life. During the First Year at Hogwarts feature, the Studio Tour will house the paw mould of Hagrid’s three-headed dog, Fluffy. Restored by some of the original Creature Effects Team, the paw mould will be seen alongside the original self-playing harp that lulled the dog to sleep.

Game of Wizard Chess anyone? We’ll also be bringing one of the most iconic scenes from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to the Studio Tour, with a brand-new photo opportunity. This new display will feature moving chess pieces as well as the original Knight that Ron sacrifices himself on.
